Lucy Loves | April 2013

Hey Lovelies!

Wow this year is going so fast! I cannot believe it's already the beginning of May, but here is my Lucy Loves post for April.

Beauty Loves.

1. Ghd IV violet professional styler.

I LOVE THESE! Not only are they great at straightening and curling hair (as you would expect from a ghd styler) but they are purple too! They also have a mint green and yellow ones, but they're a limited edition so hurry if you want to purchase some!

2. Woodwinked eye shadow by M.A.C.

So last weekend I went up to Norfolk to see my family and while I was there I took a trip into Norwich and there was the most amazing M.A.C counter and since there isn't one near me at home I figured I should probably purchase a few items ;). I'd heard a lot about this colour and since it has slight bronze hints I thought it would really compliment my blue eyes, and it does!

3. All that glitters eye shadow by M.A.C.

Another shadow that I picked up on my little M.A.C spree. I love this colour! It can be worn everyday as its a very neutral colour and only has a very subtle shimmer.

4. M.A.C mineralised concealer.

I had been looking for a new concealer for a while, and although this one is rather on the pricey side it is really good at concealing under eye circles and other facial blemishes. It's probably the nicest concealer I've ever had actually!

5. M.A.C mineralise skinfinish natural.

Yet another M.A.C purchase! I was in desperate need of a new powder since my favorite Clinique one hit pan and I had wanted to try this one for ages so of course I had to buy it. It's a really nice powder, it feels nice on the skin, gives good coverage and keeps my face matte throughout the day.

Random Loves.

1. Wrigleys Extra whitening, bubblegum flavored gum.

My mum brought a packet of these for me the other day and oh my god they just taste so good! And they're whitening too!

2. Looking for Alaska.

If you know me or follow me on Instagram you'll probably know that I love reading and I'm always searching for a new book to read. I'd seen a lot of great reviews on this book so when I saw it in my local bookshop I had to but it. I haven't finished this book yet but I'm really enjoying it so far and I can't seem to put it down!

I hope you all enjoyed this post, it's a different layout to my last ' Lucy Loves' post using slightly more artistic photos so you can see the products mentioned more clearly.

Don't forget to leave a comment telling me what you thought and please check out the Amazon adds in the side bars :)

Beauty Blogger Tag...

Hey Lovelies, I hope you're having a good week!

I saw this tag floating around and I thought it looked fun so, yeah I hope you enjoy it!

1. Is your hair naturally curly or straight?
Straight, with some very annoying kinks!

2. Whats your natural hair colour?
Um, I'd say it was a dark blonde type colour, but I do get highlights.

3. Do you dye it yourself or go to a salon?
I go to a salon!

4. How often do you wash your hair?
I wash it every night because it gets quite oily, but I might try to only wash it every other day.

I usually just wear my hair natural, but I occasionally put it up or in a side braid, I hardly ever use heat!

I've only had my nails done at a salon once and it was really nice but I tend to just do them myself.

Whenever it starts to chip really.

8. Do you paint your toes in the winter, or just in the summer?
I have mine painted all year round because I hate the look of my toes without nail paint!

Yes definitely, but I tend not to go to school or meet up with friends without some makeup on.

16. How many high end products do you have?
Quite a few, I don't really feel much like counting them!

17. How often do you wash your makeup brushes?
Oh god this something I'm absolutely awful at, I hardly ever clean my brushes but I am trying to get in the habit of it!

18. Do you plan your OOTD the night before, or decide when you get dressed?
I have to wear a uniform for school so I don't really have a chance to plan outfits, but I do plan outfits for special events and non-uniform days.

Um, like never, I have a rucksack for school and two handbags which I sometimes switch up.

I wake up at 6:45 and go to sleep at around 11:30 but it varies.

30. What camera do you use?
My iPhone, I'm looking into getting a proper camera!

Pastel Pink!

33. Favorite beauty/fashion magazine?
Vogue!

34. Do you swear?
Yes, but I try not to!

35. What are you doing with the rest of your day?
Well, it's 6:30 so I'll be leaving for swimming in about an hour and then I'll be off to bed!

I tag everyone!!!!

Hey Lovelies!

Long time no blog (again!). It appears that after a long and very cold winter, Spring has finally sprung here in the UK, and today was the first day of the year I felt I could go out wearing something a little more summery.

Lucy Loves | March 2013

Hey Lovelies! Better late than never!!

This is going to be a new section on my Blog called 'Lucy Loves' (hence the title) and it's basically just a monthly favorites post with a bit of a personal twist, there will be a 'beauty loves' section and a 'random loves' section in every post.

Beauty Loves:

1. Soap and Glory sugar crush body scrub, this is the best scrub I have ever tried, not only does it leave your skin flake free and extremely soft but it also has a really lovely fruity scent too!

2. World famous neutrals palette by Benefit, I've been loving this palette so much this month! I've been wearing the colours almost everyday as they're very wearable and suitable for everyday use.

3. The rocket mascara by Maybeline, I don't usually like mascaras with plastic applicators because I feel like they don't grab all the lashes and coat them properly, but I'd read really great reviews about this one and they weren't wrong! I love it and it makes my eyelashes look really long and full.

4. Revlon balm stains, These are my favorite lip products at the moment because they're really moisturizing and the colours are realy bright and last all day!

5.Pastel nail polishes, I absolutely love pastel colours for the spring and summer months and I've been buying so many pastel nail varnishes recently and they're just a few of my favorites.

Random Loves:
For some reason I wasn't able to upload a photo for this one but here's a list:
1. Dorset cereals chocolate and macadamia bars, omg these are fab because they taste really really yummy and chocolatey and sweet but they aren't super bad for you which is great!

2. Green Tea! (no particular brand) I tried green tea for the first time a few weeks ago and I loved it because it just tastes so good!

3. Painting, I've always loved art but this month I've been playing around with paints and I've just really been loving it so yeah, I thought I'd include that.

So that's everything I've been loving this month. I'm sorry its rather late but better late than never eh??

My Life | My option subjects...

Hey Lovelies!

So in my last post I mentioned that I was in year 9 and had just chosen my option subjects that I am going to be studying in year 10 and 11, and in this post I'll be going into more detail about the subjects I chose and why.

At my school we are allowed to choose 6 subjects, not including Maths English and Philosophy(ew), I immediately put Art and Textiles down as I've always had an interest in fashion and design, I also put down triple Science because I do really enjoy it! I also chose Geography and Spanish so that I could qualify for an e-bacc providing I get a minimum grade of a C in all my GCSE's, because I chose triple Science I didn't get to chose a sixth subject but that didn't really bother me at all.
I'm really hoping I've made all the right choices because I'm not 100% sure about what I want to do when I leave school but I think these subjects will give me wide range of options in the future.

Well this post was rather boring but it was requested, and I like to try and help my followers as much as I can, so I hope you found it helpful and gave you a few ideas about what options you might like to take.

I have just ordered a ton of thing of ebay for really great prices, so when they all arrive I shall do a little haul post :-)

My life | where I've been/what I'm doing...

Hey my lovelies!

I wish I had some fantastic, interesting excuse for not posting but I really don't, I'm mostly just incredibly lazy and up to my eyeballs with homework and other things us teenagers have to cope with, so I just wrote this post to let you all know that I am still alive but I just haven't posted in while because life seems to be taking over so blogging is really at the bottom of my to-do list.

As I'm in year 9 I have just selected my option subjects that I'm going to study over the next two years, I found it fairly easy to choose these subjects as I had a fairly clear image of what I want to do when I leave school (I can do another post on that if you'd like) and I decided that it's time to knuckle down and try harder with my school work as I do find my self slacking a bit, so as an effect of this my posts will be less frequent but I will try to post about once a week.

So, there's a little explanation for you guys, thankyou all so much for sticking with me, I really appreciate it :)
